Ginseng Chicken Soup Restaurants (Samgyetangjip) – where chicken stuffed with rice, dates steamed and served hot, and white ginseng served.

Barbecue Meat Restaurants (Bulgogijip) – You will find pork (doejigogi), short rib (galbi), and Beef (soggy)  cooked with soy sauce, green onions, garlic, sesame seeds, and oil, and char-broiled.

Dumpling Restaurants (Mandujip) – where meat, vegetables, and tofu are stuffed into dumplings and cooked, fried, or boiled in a potage and served. Pastries prepared Chinese-style are also served in these restaurants.

Raw Fish Restaurants (Saengson Hoejip) – where sliced fresh raw fish can be served with red pepper sauce (choking) or soy sauce (ganjang). Other fish delicacies on the menu may include soybean curd (tofu), man tang (hot fish pepper soup with vegetables and egg).

Steamed Rice Restaurants (Baekbanjip) – here, rice is served with various kimchi, fish, soup, and namul (parboiled vegetables). Other dishes like naengmyeon and bibimbap are often on the menu.

Dog-Meat Soup Restaurants (Bosintangjip) – the term Bosinhada means to build up one’s strength. Thus dog-meat soup or bosintang is a rampant delicacy.

Other popular Korean dishes include:

Sinseollo – chopped vegetables, fish, meat, ginkgo nuts in a brazier and quail egg

Seolleongtang – rice served with bone and beef stew; and

Bindaetteok – the Korean bean flour and egg pancake prepared with various combinations of meat and vegetables.
