WHEW! That's all the settings for now! Go back to chat. Now type /ctcps on and press enter. You should now be ready to download episodes! To see a list of all the servers, type !list - this will show you everyone who is serving files. Here is an example of an fserv ad: To get onto a server (any server), you would use their trigger - in the example above, my ad, the trigger is /ctcp Spamgirl !Big Brother. Some servers will have more than one trigger, so if there is more than one /ctcp nick !word, you can try them all. The Message: part just tells you what is on the server, or in my case, what has recently been added to the server. TIP! It's VERY easy to copy text in mIRC - all you have to do is highlight it! Just click and drag over the text you'd like to copy, then press ctrl-v. VOILA! Once you're on a server, these are the commands you can use: DIR - Type DIR to see the available folders and files. You should do this as soon as you enter an fserv to see what is there, and every single time you enter a new folder. CD - This is what you use to move into and out of folders - for example, if you want to move to the "Big Brother" directory, you'd type "cd Big Brother". If you want to go back to the main directory, or down a level, type "cd .." GET - This is how you get a file to download. For example, if you wanted to download "bb4_episode_1.avi" you would type "get bb4_episode_1.avi" SENDS - Typing this will tell you how many files are sending right now, how much longer they have, and who they are to QUEUES - Typing this will tell you how many files are queued (in line to download) right now. It will also tell you how many queues YOU have. All servers have a limit on how many queues a person can have, so you can use this to find out how many more files you can queue CLR_QUEUE # - This is how you can tell the server you no longer want a file to download. To find out which queue position your file is in, type "dir", then you put that position into the # area - for example, if bb4_episode_1.avi is in queue #1, you'd type "clr_queue 1" CLR_QUEUES - This is how you can tell the server to clear ALL your queued files and not send them. If you cancel the download of a file but it continues to resend, go back on the file server and CLR_QUEUES to stop it. Once you have your files in the queue, you just have to stay in #survivor-central and wait for them to download. |
