CBS REVEALS THE IDENTITES OF THE 13 NEW HOUSEGUESTS COMPETING IN "BIG BROTHER 5"

Fifth Installment of Series Premieres on Tuesday, July 6th With a 90-minute Broadcast on the CBS Television Network

CBS announced today the identities of the 13 houseguests who will compete in BIG BROTHER 5.

The show follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house. At the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.

BIG BROTHER 5 debuts with a special 90-minute broadcast on Tuesday, July 6 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Following the premiere, BIG BROTHER 5 will be broadcast each week on Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), Thursdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) and Saturdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT). The Thursday broadcast will feature the live eviction of one of the houseguests.

What We Know So Far

- There will be 2 houseguests who are related, but don’t know it

- There will be a fish tank

- The house has been redecorated, but not redone

- The windows in the sky bedroom are tintable for privacy

- The bedrooms are sky room (nice), wood room (not so nice), cement room (hellish)

- The houseguests have been chosen because they are all polar opposites in their opinions… they have different political views, etc.

- The HoH will have more power than ever and will be able to change the game fundamentally every week, even beyond picking people to kick out

- The HoH bedroom has gone spytech and therefore the HoH will be able to spy on the other HGs

- The PoV is being changed so that “pure and open hearted people” will be more likely to benefit from it, and it will be more involved

- Prize is still $500,000

- There will be 13 houseguests, 7 men and 6 women

This is confirmed – many of you have seen a commercial during The Early Show this morning that says “Two of the HouseGuests are related, but don’t know it.” It was on our message board a couple of days ago, kudos to newbie Jen for hearing this on the radio!

BIG BROTHER MOVES INTO ITS SUMMER HOME

The 13 contestants vying for $500,000 on Big Brother 5 may think they know what the house holds for them on the July 6 premiere, but executive producer Arnold Shapiro promises they don’t.

One big change awaits the weekly player in charge: The Head of Household will now be given a new ability to alter the course of the game, hints Shapiro.

A number of other top-secret twists are planned for the premiere. “There are going to be some surprises to the house itself, and some changes to the Veto”, Shapiro adds. “We have the most colorful cast of characters we’ve ever had. It’s filled with opposites under many different categories.” And while he cannot predict any romances, he does admit, “People may think they can be celibate and strong, and find that they can’t. Nobody’s asked us, ‘Can I have sex?’ If they did, we’d say, ‘Yeah. We’re going to tape it.’”

The voyeuristic reality series begins its fifth season with, executive producer Arnold Shapiro reports, a ‘distinctive and quirky’ cast that he believes will produce ‘some nice shouting matches’ over the summer. His optimism is based on the vastly different political views held by the house’s seven men and six women. Shapiro also has high hopes for this year’s guarded twist that ‘unfolds like chapters,’ unlike last year’s X-Factor, which was revealed up front. Tonight, the players enter the compound and engage in their first Head of Household competition. Julie Chen hosts.

I just got finished watching ET. At the end where they announce the birthdays and whats gonna be on the show tommorrow, they mentioned That they will have a behind the scenes look of the house AND the house guests. This will be tommorrow Wednesday, June 30.
